VICE PRESIDENT, DIRECT SALES (FULL-TIME) - POWAY, CA
Selected individual will work out of the Chef Works Corporate Office in Poway, CA. This position is full time.

Position Title: Vice President, Direct Sales
Reports To: CEO
FLSA: Exempt
Overall: Provides leadership to the direct sales program. Provides input to and assists in the preparation of the sales strategy for domestic and international direct sales. Is accountable for a corporate annual sales target for the direct sales program.
Essential Functions:
- Develops sales forecast and ensures sufficient pipeline is in place to meet sales goals and objectives. Communicates plan to direct reports and senior management to ensure understanding.
- Recruits, trains, supervises, coaches and directs the Sales and Marketing department teams. Makes recommendations on hiring, termination, development, and appropriate disciplinary action.
- Assists in the development of compensation and bonus programs to motivate sales professionals.
- Travels extensively within assigned territory to coach and counsel direct sales force to success.
- Participates in strategic meetings with potential customers, partners and peers.
- Assists sales executives in closing deals where necessary.
- Prepares sales forecast and may present to the senior leadership team. Prepares annual sales budget for assigned areas of responsibility. Ensures performance is within agreed upon parameters.
- Stays current within profession through networking, education and research.
- Recommends and administers policies and procedures to enhance operations.
- Establishes compensation, training and sales incentive programs.
- Effectively uses technology to minimize travel expense through the use of virtual meetings.
- Prepares monthly reports on sales actual to forecast and pipeline, and monitors budgeted travel expense.
- Develops and implements departmental goals and organizational structure.
- Be a role model for the company culture and values.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field, or related experience. MBA preferred.
- 7 or more year’s progressive experience in leading direct sales teams and consistently meeting sales targets in companies with revenue in excess of $100M. Experience in Apparel, and / or Uniform (direct sale industry sector), industries required.
- 3 or more year’s supervisory experience, to include demonstrated experience in supervising sales professionals.
- 3 – 5 years progressive direct sales experience in the uniform, apparel or related industry. Experience must include a minimum of 1 year of account management.
- Demonstrated excellent proficiency in the following areas:
- Creation of long and short range sales strategies and the delivery of results
- Ability to recruit, develop and retain quality sales talent
- Use of computers, to include expert level proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, contact management systems
- Organizational skills
- Written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Analytical skills
- The development of compensation programs for sales professionals
- Development and management of department budgets
Physical Requirements:
Occasional lifting of 5 lbs. or less (less than 5% of the time), and 10 lbs. or less (less than 5% of the time) generally at waist level, some above/below waist, none above shoulders. Position Title: Account Executive
Reports To: Regional VP, Central Territory
FLSA: Exempt
Overall: Identifies, quotes, closes, and manages the direct sales activities for Specific Assigned Accounts and in Assigned Territory.
Essential Functions:
- Provides a high level of service to account base. Uses personal visits and technology to foster and facilitate effective communication This includes telephone, e-mail, site visits, web conferences, and active participation in trade shows.
- Increases Specific Assigned Accounts and Assigned Territory sales level via regular and planned sales calls on accounts. Identifies opportunities to sell all product lines across the organization.
- Meets agreed upon profitability, sales growth and retention requirements.
- Develops an annual forecast for Specific Assigned Accounts and Assigned Territory. Ensures sufficient opportunities are in the pipeline to meet agreed upon targets.
- Works closely with the Client Services team to ensure Customer requirements are met.
- Stays abreast of industry trends and Customer requirements. Shares findings with marketing and management team. Works with peers to identify and utilize industry best practices.
- Prepares an annual business plan for Specific Assigned Accounts and Assigned Territory.
- Provides product presentations to Customers for all product lines.
- Documents contacts and concerns in Company CRM program. Keeps apprised of Specific Assigned Accounts and Assigned Territory performance and provides regular updates to management team.
- Stays within travel and entertainment budget parameters.
- Responds to bid requests. Works with Inside Sales personnel to prepare quotations.
- Represents the Company in a professional manner and exercises reasonable and prudent care in the conduct of all duties and responsibilities made on behalf of the Company.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 3 – 5 years progressive direct sales experience in the uniform, apparel or related industry. Experience must include a minimum of 1 year of account management.

- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to include the ability to develop effective working relationships with customers and peers.
- Computer proficiency in a Windows XP or greater environment to include email/calendaring, word processing, – creating/formatting correspondence, quotations, spreadsheet – creating spreadsheets with formulas, modifications to existing spreadsheets, data analysis, data downloads from other sources, presentation software – creating presentations with data, graphs, graphics, ability to provide presentations electronically, and contact management software – entering notes and other communications, data retrieval, creating sales pipeline.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with little direct supervision.
- Demonstrated skills to work as a team member and in openly sharing best practices.

Position Title: Client Services Associate II
Reports To: Client Services Manager
FLSA: Exempt
Overall: Under limited supervision, assists customers with product inquiries, resolves problems or concerns, and performs order entry activities.
Essential Functions:
- Responds to inquiries from customers and Account Executives via telephone, written correspondence, fax, and / or in person.
- Assists customers with the selection of product from catalogs or the internet. Assists customers with the selection of product from catalogs or the internet. Answers questions on product availability or makes suggestions for alternate product selections.
- Enters orders into the company’s order entry and embroidery system.
- Tracks and maintains pending and open orders.
- Works with others departments as needed to resolve routine problems or concerns, seeking assistance or escalating to more senior level personnel, when needed. Develops proficiency in handling problems of a more complex nature.
- Follows up, either verbally or in writing, to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrates proficiency with the company’s products, processes and procedures related to the Client Services function.
